Ian Kaneko is a music composer, producer, and audio editor specializing in electro-acoustic hybrid scores for video games and film.
Trained in classical composition as well as modern media scoring and music technology, Ian brings any world or story to life through detailed highly customized scores. Beginning as a classical composer for concert performance, his first media compositions were in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center during his undergraduate studies. Scoring over a dozen student games at CMU, he received a BFA in Music Composition with a minor in Game Design while studying under concert composer Nancy Galbraith.
Soon after, Ian attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he continued his studies in composition, now focusing on technology and entertainment media. There he trained with game and film industry professionals, honing skills in audio middleware, audio editing, and music production. In 2025, Ian graduated with a MM in Technology and Applied Composition while studying under composers Lennie Moore and Matt Levine.
